Q My family and I have never visited the Cape before. What should I do while I’m there?

Approximately one month before your vacation begins, you will receive a customized Welcome Package, chock full of ideas of things to do, see, and enjoy during your time on Cape Cod. Even guests who have vacationed on the Cape for years find the package helpful. At the vacation home you will find a Guest Directory, local guidebooks and brochures, and sample menus from area restaurants. You can also a visit our Area page for a partial listing of local activities and sights of interest.

I see the weekly rate per home. What other charges are there? Do you charge extra for taxes or utilities?

A

No additional costs, fees, or taxes. The price you see is the price you pay.

 

Q When is the payment due?
A

Dates are considered reserved when a signed agreement and a 50% payment are received. The 50% balance and a separate check for $250 as a refundable security deposit are requested 60 days prior to arrival, or in early May for Summer arrivals, whichever date is sooner. For all bookings made less than 60 days in advance, full payment is requested at time of reservation.

 

Q Do you own these homes or manage them?
A

My husband Tom and I own Beach Heather and SeaChalet, and are in our 7th year of welcoming guests. I am a Realtor, and handle the reservations for the additional homes you see listed. At Harwich Vacation, we all take great pride in making sure you have a wonderful and special vacation.

 

Q Are linens included?
A

Of course! All beds are freshly made, and you will find plenty of bath towels, hand towels, bath mats and washcloths.

 

Q What will we need to bring to the vacation home?
A

The homes are completely stocked with everything you'll need, from beach chairs, cooler, and beach umbrella, to basic spices, sugar, teas, to lobster pot and utensils, to bed linens and fresh towels. You will also find dish soap, trash bags, paper towels, saran wrap, etc…All you really need to bring are personal items and beach towels / beach blankets.

 

Q Are all the homes non-smoking?
A

Yes. For the comfort of all our guests, all of the vacation homes are non-smoking.

 

Q What if I have to cancel my reservation?
A

For all cancellations, the rental fees will be refunded upon re-rental of the vacation home, minus a $200.00 cancellation fee.
If you have concerns about cancellation, please look into travel insurance from a carrier such as www.insuremytrip.com

 

Q Can I make long distance calls?
A

Yes, you can with your own calling card. Local phone service is provided, but it doesn't extend too far. You will want to bring your calling card or a cell phone with you.

 

Q Are all the homes pet free?
A

Yes, some people are allergic to dogs and cats and we wish to ensure a quality experience for everyone who vacations with us.

 

Q What day do your weekly rentals begin and end on?
A

Our weekly rentals run from Saturday - Saturday during our prime season. Prior to mid June and after Labor Day we have more flexibility with arrival and departure days.

 

Q What's the best season to visit?
A

Ah, tough question! Depends on who you ask... the beach comber, hiker, fisherman, golfer, swimmer, photographer, kayaker, cyclist, novelist, artist... you get the idea.
